Let me start by saying: There are a lot of people that don't think of preventative paint protection. I was one of them. Maybe you don't drive your Corvette much. Only on the weekends, right? We know tons of people like that but if history is to be repeated, then rock chips happen. If you've ever taken your car to get paint chip repairs and touch ups, then you'll know it's an expensive and laborious job.

1. Regular washing and car care products. 

Safe to say most Corvette owners are washing their car regularly. After your Sunday drive, or maybe you're a little more hands-on and washing down every drive. But, for those of you that do not wash your car, or put some car safe chemicals on the car to protect it, this one's for you. Regular washing is the single most important action to protect your finish. You don't need 100 different bottles of cleaner that do the same thing. Pick a universal wash, and get out there at least once a week, and you'll notice your paint shining brighter.

2. Paint Protection Films. 

Paint protection films are becoming all the rage these days. More and more dealerships are offering this service before you even take delivery, and for good reason. Think of protection films as a pair of latex gloves for your car. What is great about films is that you can see they are working. After some mileage, you will be able to feel small knicks and dinks in the films, and even some debris build up.

However, that is one downside of the film. You are left with a dirty and banged up film, which doesn't look that pretty on a Corvette. Secondly, be mindful where you are driving. Do you take your Corvette to visit some friends for lunch on the weekend? Make sure you plan your route and know which roads should be avoided. If you're in a Northern State that is heading into Spring, then this is even more crucial since your roads will have been heavily salted or covered in gravel
